Charles Alan Roe Musical History

Born and raised in the small town of Godley, Texas, his mother a teacher and his father a part time preacher. The family was a musical family, always singing together and playing musical instruments, entertaining at get togethers and rest homes.

After high school Alan joined the Air Force. While stationed in South Korea, he formed a band, with other airmen and they played for the recreation center on base. They were given permission, by the base commander to play off base at orphanages around that area of Korea.

After military service, Alan returned to the United States and toured with his new band for several years around the country, playing hotel circuits. In 1988 his group, Phoenix, had a regional hit song in Alabama and Tennessee called, “You Know Me”.

In 1997 Alan signed with Torch Records and had three number one songs on the National Indy Charts. He continued touring until 2000. While with Torch record, Charles Alan recieved the “New Artist” of the year and album of the year at Nashvilles Golden Music Awards for Independent artist

For the next 15 years, Alan, performed a solo act performing, country, rock and also became and Elvis Tribute Artist. In 2008 he was invited to perform at the “Ultimate Elvis” contest in Memphis TN where he was a finalist.

Charles Alan has now teamed up with, Waco’s area band “Griffith Switch” performing country music and classic rock.
